A real Stepping Stone – Lush

Stepping Stone BannerOne thing that always “gets me” about Lush’s products are the names. Whoever comes up with these names should be awarded a “Punny medal of honour”. If you’re reading this, I salute you. I saluteThe much dreaded Sunday evening with its taste of the Monday Blues, to me, is usually a bath time feast. It’s the time of the week, where I try to relax and indulge in my favourite bath products. Just so that it’s very clear – I’ve had the worst time trying to ration my Lush products – I want to use them every day, all day long!

This week I set out to try the blue, fresh smelling, foot-shaped foot scrub called Stepping Stone. As with the Each Peach Massage bar, my purchase was based on smell. It smells like the ocean, if the ocean smelled like citrus and jojoba. At first, I wasn’t convinced that this brittle bar could quite stand up to the challenge, but as soon as it hit the water and I worked it onto my feet, I could feel the sea salt and pumice doing its magic. How to use: Break into preferred sizes for future uses (I think I’d get about 3 uses out of it) and store in a cool, dry place. If you would like to purchase your very own Smurf maker… I mean Stepping Stone, you can head on over to the Lush site.

Happiness is a Hey Gorgeous Pineapple and Mango Body Sorbet

Just like everyone who attended the Hey Gorgeous High Tea at the One and Only Hotel, I got the first look at their spring/summer range. As I was helping to set up and pack out the products, I “Ooh and … Continue reading

Each Peach is different, but Lush’s peach is SPECIAL

A recent study has shown that the smell of citrus lifts a woman’s spirits… boys… if you’re paying close attention, this means copious amounts of lemony bath products and perfumes with top notes of lemon like Dior Addict Shine and … Continue reading

A little while ago, I got an introduction email from Beverley at Be Cause Integrated Communications telling me all about an amazing brand called Wema Bodycare.

I wasted no time and immediately checked out the website and I fell in love with 2 products in particular which I’m going to buy as soon as my current body treats are finished 🙂 The Geranium Rose Whipped mousse which retails for R150 and the Orange Body Scrub which retails for R140 – they both look absolutely divine!

They are pretty reasonably priced, cruelty free and 100% natural which is music to my ears!

For more information on the products and on the company, check out their website. You can also follow them on Twitter and like their Facebook page!

If you’ve tried their products before, I would love to know what you think and what you recommend.

Hey Gorgeous – they’ve done it again

Twice this week my jaw dropped when I saw the latest additions to the, already impressive, Hey Gorgeous product-line.

Tub Teas

Tub TeaI still bath in Rooibos tea from time to time. I draw a hot bath, drop 4 teabags in the tub and drizzle in some honey and sometimes I add a little milk too.

These lovely tea bags come in Milk & Honey, Rose & Cinnamon, Rooibos, Hibiscus & Vanilla, Lavender & Time and Berry infusion.

I helps you to relax and the aromas are really invigorating.

Red Velvet Body Scrub Bliss

red velvetYou guys… Seriously??? Where the heck can you get RED VELVET BODY SCRUB??? Only at Hey Gorgeous. I don’t think there’s a need to explain why you should get yourself a Red Velvet Body Scrub…. coz… duh?

Ok, so you know where to find me! 😀

Figs for feet, Vintage gone new and a Dry oil for everything!

By now, you might have gathered that I’m really fond of my natural products. I wish sometimes I could go to Elysium – that commune in Wanderlust, and just live off the earth. When I come across and use natural products, I get a distinct feeling of being ONE with Mother Nature. Yes, I’m THAT girl.

I’ve been lucky enough to receive 3 items that are simply amazing natural products and they also evoke a sense of nostalgia (well, at least for me).

Nuxe Huille Prodigieux Multi-Usage Dry oil – BLOGGERS WHO BLESS GOODIE BAG

This little gem was sponsored in my Bloggers Who Bless goodie bag and while I was a little apprehensive to try it, I must admit that I fell in love with the smell from the get-go. It’s basically an all-purpose oil which is suitable for your face, body and hair and you’ll be amazed to see that a little (even a drop) goes a very long way. It’s made up of 30% precious plant oils and it’s 98.1% NATURAL! That’s basically 100% and totally good enough for me. From what I can gather from Lipgloss is my life, it’s on sale at Edgars and Truworths and it’s also pretty reasonably priced too! I would totally pay R210 for 50ml of this stuff. Quite simply (and just as Leigh mentions in her post) it smells so bloody good, you can’t afford to not have a bottle at all times.

But wait, there’s more! Because Nuxe has managed to capture the scent of the dry oil and made a le parfum for us perfume enthusiasts!

Optiphi – Essence 1.618 – aromatic balm – CPT BLOGGERS MEET

I remember sneaking into Gran’s secret drawer and fishing out (digging out with my little nails) the scented balm she had pressed into a silver Victorian locket. And ever since then I may have come across the concept maybe… once or twice? I was enamored with it every time.
Optiphi has their own aromatic balm and it is such a lovely fragrance. It’s a lovely dark (almost plum) colour and I want to say “it smells like Killer Queen by Katy Perry”. I love that it’s tiny enough that you can take it with you everywhere you go – you can even put it in your wallet! According to my source (hiehiehie nudge nudge wink wink) this is becoming a fast favourite and it seems like they’re working different scents too. So I’m seriously excited about seeing more of these aromatic balms.

SKNLogic’s SKNrenew foot balm with fig extract – BLOGGERS WHO BLESS GOODIE BAG

Made from Fig Extract, Shea Butter, Vitamin E, Cucumber extract and Orange oil (amongst other natural ingredients), this magnificently hydrating balm is sure to moisturise, protect and reduce the depth of wrinkles in the feet.

I generally don’t use lotion on my feet because I feel like I’m sliding everywhere and it feels like my feet double up as a dirt collector, but with this balm (because it smells so friggin awesome) I made a conscious effort to do it properly. After a good foot scrub and a lovely soak, I slathered on the balm and slipped on my wool socks and the next morning I was left with youthful looking feet.

I also think that at R85 for a 75ml tube, and considering that you don’t use a lot of it, it is very affordable and totally worth it. To find your nearest stockist click here and go spoil your feet.

I will definitely get myself these spoils again!
